Solid Minerals ministry staff urged to recommit to service

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, Mr Faruk Yabo, has charged staff of the ministry to renew their commitment to efficient and quality service delivery to Nigerians.

Speaking in Abuja at the opening ceremony of the 2025 Customer Service Week, themed “Mission: Possible”, Yabo, who was represented by the Director of Human Resource Management, Mrs Ijeoma Idika, described the celebration as an opportunity for public servants to reflect on how well they serve citizens.

He emphasised that the nation’s progress depends on individual dedication within the civil service, noting that inefficiency in governance often begins with personal lapses.

“Whenever we say Nigeria is not working, we must ask ourselves who makes up Nigeria. Every ministry, department, and agency represents a part of the system. When any of them fails, we all fail,” he stated.

The Permanent Secretary urged officers to handle assignments promptly and with enthusiasm, stressing that “excellence is achieved by doing what is right, at the right time, and with the right attitude.”

He further called for teamwork and a renewed spirit of service, adding that every interaction with citizens should reflect empathy, professionalism, and dedication.
