As in George Orwell’s animal farm, Niccolo Machiavellian political reality, and Aristotle’s theories. Let me describe what the Nigerian political landscape look like in a joking manner which is not funny anyway.
According to Aristotle, man is a political animal. And Niccolo Machiavelli rightly said that the best political animal (Man) is the person who can conveniently exhibit the attributes of a half Fox and a half Lion (to be able to identify and evade traps and to be able to roar when necessary to keep others at bay). But as I write my own political views, postulations, theories, or political reality, I have to say that the Nigerian political situation surpassed what obtained in the times of Aristotle, Niccolo Machiavelli, or in George Orwell’s Animal Farm (THE ZOO).

Mercantile Politics and Political Merchants: The Bane of Nigeria’s Poor Masses

I am categorizing the Nigerian political Landscape/territorial abode into five, from which Nigerian political animals unleash terror, poverty, and misery on the poor masses. The geographical entity called Nigeria is categorized in political landscaping/abodes as follows:
1. Ariel abode
2. Aboral abode
3. Land abode
4. Subterranean abode
5. Aquatic abode:

1. At the Arial domain of THE ZOO, most politicians are either kites or vultures. They eat the poor masses either dead or alive without mercy.
(Egbeja na Okpoko-Udene).

2. On land, most ZOO politicians act like a pack of wild dogs and cats, such as jackals, wolves, hyenas, foxes, jaguars, cheetahs, and leopards. They will become extremely selfish and caniverously devilish in dealing with the masses.
(Abokin Qura.
Enyim Agu).

3. Meet ZOO Politicians at an aboral political level must turn everything and all dealings into baboon versus monkey business.
(monkey does the toiling,
The baboon does the reaping.
Monkey dey work,
Baboon dey chop.
Suna da Sonkai.
Okpomgbagbara).

4. Meet most ZOO Politicians at the political subterranean must act like swallow masters such as vipers, king cobras, anacondas, and pythons. They swallow others hook-line-and-sinker without looking backwards or thinking about the consequences (Onokpos).

5. At sea level, most ZOO politicians act like sea lions, crocodiles, sharks, and whales.
It is a game of might is right or a game of winer takes it all
(aka ka aka gbajie aka).

Most Nigerians take politics as a full-time job. They see politics as issues of life and death. To them, politics is a do-or-die affair.
Most have not the interest of the masses at heart. The majority lack the training that is required to be good leaders where it concerns statecraft or government/governance.
Most see politics and governance from the angle of religion and ethnicity at every level of the social stratification.
Most Nigerian politicians weaponize religion and ethnicity against the poor masses.
These charlatans who have no political ideologies or clear political vision are classified as follows:
1. Mumurious U-turn Politicians
2. SUV Good for Nothing Politicians
3. Political Job Seekers
4. Food is Ready Politicians
5. Political Contractors
6. Merchandise Politics and
7. Political Merchants.
They all destroy the poor masses while pretending to be truthful in serving the people. Categories 1-5 are lightweights and agents of those in categories 6 & 7.
Categories 6 & 7 are hereunder defined/described as follows:

6. The practice of periodic sharing of peanuts in the form of palliatives or money to the poor masses in Nigeria during general elections, which is a disguised form of vote buying with a view to manipulate and influence the electoral process, is called merchandise politics.

DEFINITION OF POLITICS

7. Those who periodically share peanuts in the form of palliatives or money to the poor masses in Nigeria during general elections, which is a disguised form of vote buying with a view to manipulate and influence the outcome of the electoral process, are called political merchants.

Merchandise politics and political merchants are the bane of the poor masses in Nigeria.

WHO WILL BELL THE CAT?
WHO WILL SAVE THE POOR MASSES IN NIGERIA?

The cost of governance and cost of maintenance of Nigerian political animals are very wasteful; they are the highest paid anywhere in the world.

The middle class should educate the poor masses in Nigeria and fully galvanize them to live above tribalism, ethnicity, cultural affinity, religion, creed, or faith in order to rise up against those who destroy our Commonwealth and selfishly covert the same as their own personal inheritance.
If the middle class and poor masses work together, if they are willing to unite and rise to the challenge and say no to Political Merchandise and political merchants in 2026 and 2027, they have only their economic and social chains to lose.

Vote Wisely in 2027.
